Thanks guys! I think I love doing the budget builds the most. You start looking at things differently when you're out shopping.
Stuff like Hurb's budget mastery is exactly the kind of stuff that gets me excited about a build.

New Budget Build: Silvertone Bullet Esquire

This all started when my son wanted to get rid of an old pine bookshelf in his bedroom. Free material is always inspiring. :D I planed off the finish, glued up two of the shelves for the frame, added the masonite front and back and made this Dano/Silvertone style body based on the shape of a Fender ...

Re: Free Jazzmaster body project

So kinda a two tone tobacco burst? complete with black guard. So I need to know how to work with walnut and figure out how to repair the chunks missing. Hurb, Do you have access to a router/router table and planer? I have a hand held router I would get a top bearing flush router bit and a decent si...

Does look great. On your Swinger, is there the belly cut? I’m debating doing one on mine. The body is so small I decided not to do a belly cut or a forearm contour. I like the slab bodies on the duo and musicmaster and this feels good to me. Love the color, it’s like the matte version...

Thanks everyone. Painting is not my thing usually but the matte finishes turn out really nice. I'm trying to knock out the paint on the other projects
while I'm feeling good about it. More projects to come.

Epiphone Sonex Project

I've always liked the looks of the Gibson Sonex and I had started this project awhile back but lost interest in building when covid hit. I recently got back to work on some of the projects I had started and here's where I'm at on this one. I had an epiphone neck I bought from the Guitarfetish clear...

Nice! Looking forward to your updates. You going with a 24" scale or 22.5"? I have templates for both if you need a copy. 24 and two pickups, do you have the Swinger headstock template? Also do you do a single action or double action truss rod? I’m trying to find the truss r...

The Revelation is a 25.5" scale. Not sure what the original Vox version is. Mine looks really long next to the shortscales on the wall.

Thanks!
I put the tuners on and mounted the neck this evening. I had to order some smaller parts to finish.

That is so cool. What are those pickups, Vox, Phantom Guitar Works, other? Did you make the back plate? What is that metal plate? Thanks! The pickups are GFS 60's-70's Grey Bottoms with a set of covers from Phantom Guitar Works. The switch plate is from Phantom as well. I ordered one of their picku...

Thanks,
No, it's pretty much just a strat in vox clothing made from parts I already had. The three piece alder body is from scraps and I made the pickup surrounds from leftover pieces of pickguard.
Wiring is not my forte so just wiring it up like a strat is going to be a challenge.
