Re: Done bought a vox ac30

If you liked it through the grey cab, those V-Type speakers aren't too spendy. Got no dog in the greenback fight (never played them for real) but they are my favourite IRs to use. I'm still using a cheap oversized, ported 4x12 with T75s in it (two of which are from the mid 90s I think) I have had fo...

Re: Building a two-channel custom RAT

Sounds interesting. Are you going with two full circuits in there or some sort of dual pot arrangement? I went on a bit of a RAT binge just before the pandemic. Got a DRV clone, an Idiotbox Blower Box and ended up with what seemed to combine all my favourite bouttique mods into one pedal, a Broughto...

How's the Feber, herb?

I regret selling my moog a few years back, would love a smaller replacement, but few demos of other ringmods have appealed.
The randy's revenge sounds almost as nice as the moog did, but I'm liking the extra options on the feber.

Forgive my ignorance, but if the monitors are powered, couldn't you just run the headrush into them?

Re: So, I uh, might have done something kind of stupid..

Band practice last night. Mostly sounded great (but really fucking loud!). Some issues with buzzing when running two amps, but don't know if it's a ground loop issue because I'm running everything off the same four way power strip. So it shouldn't be? I'll have to spend a day debugging, I reckon. N...

Yeah, they don't do fender cleans, but they always sound beautiful.

There's a whole spectrum between early Peter Green and Dragged into Sunlight (probably the most extreme metal example I can think of that use Matamp).

Re: Boss RE-2 Space Echo (and RE-202!)

I have been wanting to get a proper looper, thinking about the DL4... main attractions are midi-sync and having all the footswitches. I already have an HX stomp though, so I should just get a proper external controller for it rather than doubling up on the same functionality in the DL4. Years...

Re: Synths...EBM/industrial/synthwave/retrowave/coldwave

Yeah if I was in europe, a second-hand Elektron Analog Four would be sweet. Prices elsewhere, bit brutal. Korg Minilogue XD is a nice option too, the voices have a digital osc that can run custom firmware, same with the built in effects, so it's a synth with some room to grow like the microfreak has...

Re: 2022 gear goals

I'm similar, just trying not to accumulate too many synth/tabletop boxes! I always get tempted by cheap volcas and gadgets but already don't have enough space on my desk for what I've got. Priorities are: Getting a midi-cv module (or maybe one of those little NIftyCases to do the same job) and open ...

Seems like it was converted into a shredder, aftermarket trem and looks like dimazios? What do the switches do?

Re: Behringer Edge

It's sort of case by case isn't it? Some of the synth stuff was a bit scummy because they lifted work from a community of people, and the "clones" aren't exactly 1-to-1 replicas, so while they are making equipment affordable, they aren't bringing back/preserving the circuits the way obsess...

Re: pictures of your guitars here

Swapped out the neck pickup on my LP so now they match a bit more both tonally and er, aesthetically. The original gibson set are very famously mismatched, the neck 490R being a super dark and squishy (alnico II) and the 498T in the bridge being a very spikey (alnico V), both just leaning very heavi...
