Very cool, I thought the pro was a cool shape when I saw the reissue a few years ago (cool enough that I had a go at making one, though in hindsight I wish I went with cheaper materials) my only issue with that shape is upper fret access. What are you thinking color wise? I really do like the rustic...

12 string on its own is an interesting shape, the lower bout reminds me of a cello. I wonder how they get the signal to pass from the 6 to the 12 with the magnets. Never mind, it's a physical connection, I just watched the video on the indiegogo. Theres some metal pins on the tiny guitar and holes o...

Yea man, you probably can harvest those LEDs but the shorter leads might be a pain to deal with since they're soldered to a board most likely. People do it though, that soaring tortoise dude makes all his electronics with recycled parts. I just looked up the switches in the hog controller, they're s...

I like these power jacks cause they don't take up a lot of space. I have tried the bigger plastic ones in the past but I have a couple cases where they snapped, though I chalk that up to the guitarist's environment. As for input jacks, I usually buy mono switchcrafts but I've probably also bought Ne...

These recommendations are not solid body, but Gibson made a guitar called the byrdland which was 23.5" scale. They're way too expensive since they don't make them anymore. They did start making a more recent 23.5" scale guitar called the Midtown Kalamazoo. Gretsch made a guitar called the ...

So I don't have a 65 jaguar reissue, but I took a screen cap of the neck and scaled it up in a photo editor to make the nut 1.650" (42mm). I then dragged over some guides and got an estimate of about 8mm (roughly .315"). There's an interesting bit of info on the stewmac clay dots page: &qu...

I don't see why it wouldn't work, other than the capo not having enough grip / area to grip.

Not interested in trying loopers, a delay or a freeze on the keyboard?

So I've been doing a bit of searching and research the past few weeks and I came across these videos yesterday: From what I can tell, all of the bending he's doing is without h...

Same, and while I own a jc120 I don't like how treble heavy the amp is, plus the distortion on the jc is kind of poopy. They take pedals well at least.

I'm liking the revelation because of the obvious inspiration from the les paul recording model. I think it does the control panel better than the gibsons, but the knobs seem to throw off the balance even though they're probably in the same spot and the lack of pickguard material is what's making it ...

Thanks cur, as much as I don't want to make a jig to form wood to, it sounds like the right way to do it. I might experiment with that soldering iron idea I have, and if it doesn't well enough try steam bending.

Thanks man, but the method of routing out the wood seems sort of wasteful to me even if it might be an easier approach.

The guitar I'd be copying has a slight carve on the top and back but I might skip that part if I get around to this.

Know anything about bending wood?

Hey shortscale, so I've been slowly been getting interested in trying wood working again, starting small and moving up to perhaps taking another shot at making guitars. I've been playing my harmony h54/1 exclusively for the past year and I'm sort of longing to trying recreating one. I've had a bit o...

You could experiment with octave down effects, like the ehx micro pog or something off a digitech whammy (some of the xp versions have octave down effects) but it's really not going to be the same as an actual bass guitar. Some of the effects might not track well enough to your liking, or only trigg...

The five I've got in total are sub 11 minutes, although it fluctuates occasionally. So I could in theory fit those on a 45, but I'm not sure if it's ultimately worthwhile.
