Thanks! Your bridge plate is perfect. I love it so much more than a boring square strat hardtail bridge.

Re: Mustang/duosonic body swap

Looks great - I would keep the white (personally I would want to see how it looks with all black plastics, but since those are Lace Sensors I'm guessing that's not an option)

Thanks! The pickups are indeed Lace Sensors, so the covers are glued on. The switches are white too. A black or tort ...

Mustang/duosonic body swap

A few years ago I built this warmoth mustang because I wanted a contour body:

But i just can’t get along with a mustang trem. So I decided I wanted a hardtail mustang/duosonic. So I swapped bodies with my Squier bullet, which has ...

Re: Impulse buy Mustang Bass project

My Harmony bass I just posted the other day had a few metal hole plugs covering some of the controls (which I've since removed)....I would probably do something like that. Wouldn't bother routing for an on/off switch or anything.

Looks great btw!

I will probably get a custom guard cut that ...

Thanks!

All I know is I don’t want a sticker. Not sure what I can use though.

Needs a setup but it plays and sounds great! Now what to do about the switch hole in the pickguard…

Body arrived yesterday! It’s beautiful!

I also have all the parts I need except the foam to put under the pickups. Plus I’ll have to slightly widen the pickup cavity as it doesn’t line up exactly with the pickguard.

Re: Impulse buy Mustang Bass project

Wow thanks!

I did not think anybody had recorded it, as the tickets say “pas de caméras” which is French for “no cameras allowed”. I wonder how anybody snuck in a video camera, they weren’t exactly small and easy to conceal back in those days.

Re: Impulse buy Mustang Bass project

I haven‘t used that EMG pickup since the mid 90s. It was in a cheap p bass copy. I am curious to hear how it will sound in a short scale bass.

When I unearthed the box I had stored the pickup in, I discovered a long forgotten relic of the past: an unredeemed ticket to go see Teh Kurdtz.

Re: Impulse buy Mustang Bass project

Yes, I have a cheap one ply black guard coming in from eBay. It’s got a switch hole as it’s actually a Fender Player Mustang Bass pickguard,

I would like to get a 3 ply black/red/black guard made at some point, but this one was cheap.

Impulse buy Mustang Bass project

I have been craving a mustang bass body with tummy and forearm contours, like a vintage 70’s one. I find the bodies more comfortable than slab bodies. I found a guy on reverb who makes them, so I ordered one right away. So now I have this which should be here in a couple of weeks:

Hey, no worries! I know you’re busy, plus it’s the holiday season. So I totally get it if it takes some time.

Saw this for sale in Finland, asking €22 shipped.

Has anyone tried Gotoh 3 barrel saddles? I just got some and I’m curious to know if they would fit this plate without enlarging the holes for the intonation screws.

Re: NGD: Squier mustang!

Lighter fluid might work, but if not, try denatured alcohol. That's the common fluid for de-gluing things, demonstrated by the LockPickingLawyer on youtube, even anti-tamper stickers. I normally just use 90% isopropyl and haven't yet found anything that it didn't work on, but maybe this sticker ...
