Re: pictures of your gear here

Some great looking boards, Hurb and Thom.

Surprised Korg haven’t made a guitar/pedalboard friendly kaoss pad with guitar level signals and 1/4 in and outs .

Re: New Rotary Pedal Day: EHX Lester G

This has made my day, nicks. Had a shitty 12hr bank holiday shift and came back to see this video waiting to view. Great demo and great playing. That lester G is pretty flexible and sounds bloody good. Hit the nail on the head with the M series. I thought you could at least change/ramp the speed wit...

Let us know how you find it, be intrigued with a first hand experience. There's this option at a very reasonable price, too... http://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/826572155608925 I can see the local news headlines “Husband crushed after wife drops his “necessary purchase” on his head” In...

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+

What do you think of the EHX Lester G (or K)? I’ve never actually tried them, though some of the YouTube demos sounds pretty good. I had the boss RT-20 years ago with the crazy rotor lights that was pretty good. The one on GarageBand was pretty good too but it’s missing from the iPad version of Gar...

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+

Wish i kept my digitech EX-7. Assuming you mean TR-7 as EX-7 appears to be an expression pedal and TR-7s appear to be silly money? I did briefly have the TR-7 as well, it was quite a good pedal, but a pain to toggle slow/fast. When I got the neo mini vent, that kinda slayed the others and I got rid...

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+

That IS crazy. I got mine for £50, I think, and I think I got my M13 for £140. At the time, I felt I'd overpaid by £20 or so but was keen because it was a Christmas present. I lent my M5 to a pupil last year who has left the school but still has it.... might need to chase them up... He probably swa...

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+

Wish i kept my neo mini vent or digitech EX-7. Was about to offer to sell you my EX-7, which hasn't been plugged in over a decade, and checked how much a sensible bro-deal would be based on eBay prices. Fuck me, there is no sensible price. I did the same and had a look on eBay, even the M5 is nearl...

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+

Most of the M effects have an output parameter though, no? Not the rotaries. DRIVE has surprisingly little effect on volume to my ears. If you turn MIX up full and DEPTH (and HRN DEPTH) to zero you get no sound. I don't notice a significant drop in volume except at certain settings of depth and mix...

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+

See if my rambling makes sense http://youtu.be/AapoYQivCrw Thank you for making that, you utter beauty. The Leslie sim sounds really good, defo would be happy with that effect. Even better that I can program it to adjust for volume drop etc. Will defo be getting one of these, because although I lov...

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+

Although, given that you can combine different effects into one preset (or something, dunno how it works), could you add a clean boost or a compressor or something alongside the uni-vibe to tune the volume back to where you want it? If I had an M9 I could make a patch that added a Leslie and a boos...

That would be great :) you legend.

Heading up to beamish again soon, will try and work in a cheeky meet up if we can.

Re: Zoom MS70CDR+

Hurb, you wouldn’t happen to know if your units have a Leslie/rotary sound in them?
Whilst I love the M5, the volume drop on the Leslie patches do my head in.

It’s when the muscle memory is so ingrained that I’m switching pickups and controls when it’s unplugged 😂😂

Re: pictures of your gear here

Another thing I have been doing lately is playing with my guitar controls more. I roll the tone back nearly halfway on the bridge, and dial everything in from there, that way I have more treble to play with if I need it. Similarly I usually have the volume backed off ever so slightly , so I can kic...

Re: pictures of your gear here

This one is the current favourite, got the M5 on top of the amp in the loop for some reverb or whatever I fancy. Everyone should get a pure sky, for the money vs the sound it’s stupidly good. I’ve got it as an always on base tone, the FF and Octavio stack beautifully into it. Been happy with this it...

Re: Sans drummer help

Given how good digital is these days, a big analogue amp is getting harder to justify, and guitarists probably would benefit from just having a "make loud box" like you say. But we won't go for that, because we're all children. So I reckon you're going to see more things that are basicall...

Re: Sans drummer help

Tom Verlaine was a big user of PA systems for a lot of his later guitar sounds, so similar principle would apply here.

Re: Sans drummer help

Reminds me when they used to credit drum machines on 80’s albums.

Like A.Linn (pronouns unknown/unplugged) on Rick Astley’ debut album and most of whatever dross Stock, Atkin and waterman ejaculated into the pop world.
