Seen a few of those in the past and reaction was the same as yours. You don't see very many. I believe they came out in the mid-90's when MIJ jaguar reissues were first issued. As someone mentioned, the green ones were only available in Japan.

I like that case - does anyone know who makes those? As far as the guitar, the finish is fairly unfaded, and I like the matching headstock of the earlier Competition Mustangs, but the listing says it has a large neck profile, so I wouldn't be interested even if it didn't have the carved up back and...

Definitely. The decal is probably some type of repro. I emailed the guy to try and fill him in, but I think he's hopelessly mislead.

These are the exact photos I sent in with the appraisal. What color does it look like to you? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/fuzztone65/Fender/Swinger/Gruhn/101_3630.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/fuzztone65/Fender/Swinger/Gruhn/IMG_8913.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v22...

Personally I've seen more in sonic blue than LPB, but that doesn't neceassarily justify his pricing. He's dreaming. He could cut that price in half and it still would be on the high end.

Now there's a third one! LPB

The guy must be selling off someone's collection.

Yeah, those F tuners are replacements.

Dakota red is correct. BTW - I saw one in sunburst recently but I can't tell if it's a refin or not.

Good point, it appears your guitar went from an Unknown Location, to California, to Illinois, to Texas (err....assuming you live in Texas).

Knowing now that there's only like 300 real ones in existence, I feel like assuming that half of the ones on the internet are fake. I don't know why, it just seems like if they are in THAT short of supply then they'd all be in the hands of collectors by now. I am guessing the production number is h...

Bass V bodies for sure, some say musicmaster bodies as well. Most have the routing matches the long / short pickups on the Bass V, but some swingers do not have any additional routing.
