Nice lookin' bass, aen. I just sold my olympic white RI, which I bought a year and some ago for six and change. After I sold it, I checked the price on Musicians Friend - $840.00  They're hiking the prices on these as if they're the actual vintage pieces. What gives?

I have the AC15 CC1. I bought it with the stock Wharfedale, and replaced it myself - it's cheaper to replace the speaker yourself, with a celestion or otherwise - I replaced mine with a Weber alnico Blue Dog. It is way creamier w/ the new speaker in. I like the amp alot. It's a LOUD 15 watt amp, and...

Re: A career in guitar making

...I suppose it is a hobby for most, but what does it take to make your own line of guitars and to mass produce and distribute them?... and... Does gender ultimately matter? I mean, do you think a girl like me even has a shot? Do you really want to "mass produce" guitars, assembly line fa...

Brand new stang RI bass, to keep the 6 string company. This bass is FUN. Seems to weigh less than the guitar - wtf!?

Well, the Weber Alnico Blue Dog finally came, and I installed it in my Vox AC15 CC1 this afternoon. Immediate, dramatic improvement over the stock (ceramic) Wharfedale - it transformed the amp from an OK sounding reissue into a vintage cream machine, and I imagine it'll only get better as the speake...

Peavey - very irrational because I actually like their gear. There's just something about the look, the logo, that I can't deal with. Years ago I got a classic 30, and the first thing I did was take the badge off! +1 on wireless, though I do gigs now and then where it's a necessity. Guitar "rel...

The new AC15(CC1)'s have master volume - I have one and it sounds great, although imo the reverb is pretty lame.

I'll post sounds when I get it installed. May be a while though...

I'm not really a fan of this black ice stuff. junking a transistor and crap into your guitar isn;t going to give you a nice overdrive sound, just buy a pedal. Even a Dano FAB Overdrive will sound better (and they are actually pretty awesome). Thanks Mike, thing is, I have pedals. I'm interested in ...

hahahaha! kerry king of slayer uses an afterburner. it basically puts your tone through a giant shit-funnel and proceeds to blenderize that. IT RAWKS! also: you should get one of these: http://www.guitarcrazy.com.au/images/Inventory/Guitars/Epiphone/Al_Cayola.jpg I'm not familiar with Kerry King - ...

Black Ice, and other gizmos

Anybody have one of these Black Ice Overdrives in their guitar, or ever heard one? Seemed like a nice idea, so I ordered one, but I haven't been able to find any sound samples yet... I'd also be inerested in hearing about this Musitech Preamp ,or the EMG Afterburner . Nomally, on board fx don't real...

For the best of both worlds, and the same price, you could get an RME Fireface 400, and a Mackie 1402-VLZ3.
That'd give you a first class sound card AND a pretty full featured mixing desk. Actually, it'd be $100 less, which
you could use towards cables (or whatever)!
