I believe they have two different finish types but beyond that they are identical.

It's a "Crafted in Japan" era with a serial number starting with R06 so it seems like that is 2004. I believe I have seen one other like it but that might be it.

Fender 69RI Mustang - LPB

Just decided to upgrade my LPB with matching headstock Mustang reissue and figured I would use this time to take photos. I was never fond of the stock 69 pickups and since I have a 65 that sounds fairly authentic I decided to make this one have hotter pickups. I don't like those dual rail humbucker ...

In comparison to the JagStang, SuperSonic and Sergio signature this guitar is not ugly at all. There are plenty of Fenders that were way uglier. The performer still has a cult following!

It's refinished and hacked for mods....the financial and historical damage has already been done. So if a matching headstock feels better to you then go for it and get a reproduction decal for it. You won't be able to easily cover all of the other mods though so it just depends how much that specifi...

I don't like Fender necks with truss rod access at the neck. For some reason they scream cheap when I look at them.

Those clearance necks that GF sells are not even worth $15. Total garbage.

And actually if you yanked a silver and purple set and want to unload them let me know. I for sure want to try them and getting used would be a less costly experiment.

Thanks for all of that info. I might do a purple/silver set in one of my Mustangs.

I could warm up to the white P-90 version. I thought I saw someone post a release date but now I see nothing. Was it October? I have the urge to throw one of these bridges on one.

The bottom line is that whatever he was playing he always sounded like Billy. Says something about the tools and the player.

I think the reissues are just mediocre tuners quality wise. Really I would like to switch to a locking tuner because I prefer them for ease of use BUT I really doubt there is a locking option that is drop in. There probably is no advantage to changing without going locking so maybe I need to suck up...

This actually irritates me more the more I think about it. Mustangs historically have been rosewood fingerboard instruments. I could understand doing the Duo-Sonic as a maple board and the Mustang as a rosewood board (even though in this case they are the same thing pretty much) but to have no singl...

I didn't realize the yen was so strong against the dollar right now...it's making the decent deals less decent but I am still thinking about it. I would imagine they are as good as the Fender Japan stuff but there is just no one that has played one. The guy that was selling one said he loves his but...
