Ya, i'm still deciding, but i'm caught in the middle. My original plan was to get a telecaster (my first tele) but i always loved p90s and a coronet i think is a very good option. The only thing i don't like about tyhe coronet is that a) I have never tried one out and b) i think they look ugly (but ...

Nash Telecaster or 60's Epiphone Coronet??

Alright so I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these guitars but i just don't know which one to go for. Nash Teles are simply the best teles i've ever played and i originally saved up for one but now i'm really liking the 60's Epiphone Coronets (the ones with 1 p90 like a jr). I never actually t...

Man. that thing is cool. I dig them old Dano's and am a proud owner of a silvertone 1457. Just a couple of days ago i went to my local vintage guitar shop and saw one a lot like yours for $650 CAN, i was about to buy it but the price seemed kinda high. Great axe tho, such a nice tone.

Awesome thread. For me, my first guitar was a Fender Mini Strat (for kids) when i was 8. I stopped laying untill i turned 14 and bought my self a very crappy Stagg Telecaster...It lasted for about 5 months untill it started to literally fall apart and then i just sold it for 50 bucks (what was left ...

Vox amps, heritage series vs. british tb Ri (90s)

So, i'm not getting a bassman afterall. They're awesome but i think they can wait, i just gotta buy a good vox amp first. I'm looking at the Vox Ac15h1tv combo (which i believe shortscale made a demo of...really cool) and also some of the 90's British TB and TBX amps. Has anyone had a chance to A/B ...

Thanks guys for the OLC love. I hate the Daddy-O, not to argue, but i found the controls lacking quite a bit. I dig the Box of Rocks I dig the Muff and the TS808 (and the like) - they're really popular, too. I love what tube amps do, though, a little more than pedals. The daddy-o is definetly a &qu...

Also if you're looking for dirt you're looking at the wrong amp.
Are you talking about them head&cab bassmans? Are they even voiced the same as the 59' era tweed combos?

Fender 59' Bassman RI ?

I think i'm going to take the advice of those who recommended a bassman 59'. I tried one out yesterday and was really impressed. However i want to get it to drive more at slightly lower volumes, anybody know something i could get for it? Treble Booster? I like the sound of a treble booster but i hav...

Even though they're overdrives i'm still gonna say them....Ibanez Tubescreamer ts808 and a Danelectro Daddy-O pedal. I really don't think anything beats natural overdrive from a Vox or a Bassman though... but that's sorta in a different ball park.

Good amps for fuzzboxes?

Hey, i got a couple of fuzz pedals and i noticed they sound so different depending on what guitar and amp are used. Anyways, what is generally the best kind of amp for a fuzzbox? I know the leadsinger of The Black Keys (heavy fuzz user) plays through a Fender twin a lot which is a fairly clean amp (...

Tubescreamer knob issue

hi, i got a ts808 reissue and the Level knob is very wobbly and feels very loose. It also goes past the indicated boundaries on the pedal. I'm thinking that it needs to be tightened but in order to do that i would think that i'd have to somehow remove the knob. Any ideas on how to tighten it? Cheers

I trhink the majority of treble boosters will be based on the rangemaster. ebay search link The circuit is very simple and you could probably build yourself one for under $30, definitely under $50. If you aren't too confident of your soldering skills you could ask Mike from this forum if he'll put ...
