Start with an Indonesian Squier Mustang. Remove springs to disable troublesome vibrato tailpiece. Remove entire wired pickguard. ROUT body slightly to allow mounting of a LOUD humbucker like DMZ X2N, IBZ V5 or GFS Power Rails about 2" north of the bridge. You now have a comfortable, LOUD, short...

It just needs a vibrato TP option @ slight extra cost.
My Squier Mustang has a loud DMZ HBPU only. I got tired of HUM! ~ This modded Mustang is now my MAIN stage & studio gtr.!

Well, I have an Indonesian Squier Mustang & I've disable
...the troublesome trem. Fed up w/ the operational HUM, I'm about to install one loud blade humbucker like DMZ X2N, Ibz V5 or GFS equivalent.
Result: rockin' hard w/ Short Scale! Think I'll build a spare, too -- same mods, different color body. :D
