Re: Music stang!

Looks like it could tell some interesting stories if it could speak. Extra holes, tape...? Yep under the tape it has holes/ routes for more pots. It's been savagely routed, I guess it had a Bigsby and some sorta ToM on it at some point... http://i.postimg.cc/Kjg9x0xN/20210313-212034.jpg I had some ...

I love that in old footages Hendrix sounds sloppy and out of tune when he noodles but the second the beat and the groove drop he sounds like god being reincarnated

I do really love how responsive the OCD is, I'm running it at 18v, for the low gain stacking I'm doing right now the extra headroom seems to make a difference.
I need to try running my OCD at 18V

Re: Firefly FFTL - A cheap Tele Deluxe / LP hybrid

Good thing you had a spare spring that worked. I'll use that as an excuse to keep hoarding guitar related bits and pieces justifying it by the fact that I'll need them all one day.

Also I never realised that plumber's tape can be used on the bridge posts.

Re: pictures of your gear here

I run OCD also as my base tone with the drive below twelve. I swapped the OCD for a Behringer OD300, which is a clone of Boss OS2, for a bit. It's not as "organic" sounding as OCD where you can shape the sound by rolling the volume knob on your guitar, and it sounds much harsher and feels ...

Re: pictures of your gear here

Now where will we go for the ho tone? to the Boss, of course! i think saw an interview with a spokesperson or some other employee of the company years back saying it was supposed to be a shortening of "Hot Tone", which (1) they defeated by making the logo in all caps and (2) all for the s...

Re: pictures of your gear here

The Hotone pedals look so cute and futuristic all at the same time. Too bad the company seems to have discontinued that line of pedals altogether. Love the Pumpkinstang(because of the colour, not the band) and the minimalistic setup. If you ever decide to sell the Tender Octaver, not that you're goi...

Nice axe! I've been dreaming of an SG Special since the time when the only source of information on vintage guitars was shitty crude web sites with crappy photos and pages from old Gibson catalogues.

Re: Notched straight edges

They are rather cheap on Aliexpress and they are made of a much thicker material than your regular steel ruler. Also, in my experience steel rulers from hardware stores aren't often straight. Doesn't mean though that the Aliexpress thing is straight either, might be a piece of junk or might be a bar...

Re: Interesting Duo-Sonic Pickups

Nice, we'll wait! Because of how long the typical delivery from Aliexpress takes I sometimes forget I ordered something and don't feel excited about the thing, but I hope the pickups will live up to the expectation. Pickup makers on Aliexpress seem to have significantly improved their game. Their pr...

I don't know in which dumb comedy of the 2000s this song was and who actually played in it, but I can't stop picturing Will Ferrel prancing earnestly and happily to this song

Re: Guild Polara - anyone played one?

Vintage Guilds are still relativelyy underappreciated. After WW2 Epiphone and Gibson were the two top shelf jazz guitar manufacturers with Epiphone being generally favoured more by pro jazz guitarists. The craftsmanship was thought to be superior to Gibson's and the guitars to be more prestigious. F...
