I've been using wound Gs for years, they just feel right to me. I've never been much of a bender. D'Addario EXL115Ws all the way. I tried a plain G a few months ago just to remember what I was missing; it felt and sounded shite.

When I’ve had similar issues with Fender amps it usually turns out to be the reverb tank or cables to said reverb tank

It powers on, all tubes glow, but no sound.

I get the usual hum/pop when I plug the cable into the guitar.
