The Behringer Time Machine is an obvious candidate I s'pose, as it's a knock-off of the old-style DMM. It's a genuine analogue delay. NOT USEFUL WITHOUT A TRUE BYPASS LOOPBOX. It has the worst bypass I HAVE EVER. True. Bypass sounds dildos. The Hardwire DL-8 looks pretty solid. Has a looper, wet on...

Cheers. From what I can tell you can get a crackle effect by putting a layer of glue between coats of paint, or use some crackle specific solution. Not quite the look I'm going for. I'm hoping to get a finish that ages super quick to reveal the lower layers.

I'm gassing for this Boomstar with the ARP filter. Samples sound sweet. Pricey as a mofo though.

Any tips on getting a brittle finish?

http://i.imgur.com/usjVkRO.jpg I've got a dopey idea for a project. Want to reshape my first bass (bought 15 years ago?) into something more offset/jag-like. Headstock would be a biatch to reshape, but I always though that it looked cool. The body is hella late 90s new metal. That top horn is too l...

My best bud/bandmate got thrown out of a party when he said U2 are the worst musical atrocity ever committed. The host said he was being blasphemous, insulting Ireland and Catholicism. What a dick. People who don't play/like music all love U2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYDvuCv_pQQ&...

Your pound is worthless now. Serves you right too, I got faceraped in the currency exchange when I was in the UK last.

I had a play around on a friend's acoustic guitar with a built in tuner in the preamp/volume control thing. Never seen that before, great idea.

The Cathedral is the dog's bollocks. The infinite mode holds on the reverb, then what you play over the top is completely dry, which is either good or bad, depending on how you look at it/what you want. Washy reverb > infinite > DRY?! Really dig the sound of the Cathedral, I left my guitar leaning o...

Buffer boost at the end if it's a Boss TU-2 type?
I just leave it out of the chain and re-tune between songs.

I've got one of these. The bypass couldn't possibly be any worse. It's like a fuzz pedal.

Buttons mapped as keys. Works for me. Not fancy. Can do Flock of Seaguls style leads. 'nuff said.
What are you running this with? I'm too much of a tard to work out how to get it to run with reason or FL studio without lots of lag. Sequencers and MIDI make my brain hurt.

Ducks on a String

Myface Facespace 3 piece, guitar, bass, drums. I play the bass. We each listen to pretty different music, and this is a bit of a mishmash of what we all listen to. I try to keep it sounding full by playing lots of chords and not following the geetar too much. We've been compared to lots of differen...

After a bit of trial and error, I've figured out my sound. Yankee Jazz Bass (string through body, series/parallel switch which I don't use), bridge pickup on full vol, neck at about 25%. Sounds nice and nasal/punchy with gain. To be totally honest though, after trying out a bunch of basses at the sh...
