Possible Jagstang purchase...

I've asked about which release this is from (asked for a shot of the neck heel and back of headstock, to see MIJ vs CIJ & serial), and mentioned curiosity about the refinish, waiting for feedback. What do you think of this think, Shortscale http://www.kijiji.ca/v-guitar/cape-breton/fender-jag-st...

That's what I'd figure. If it's not useful, it should move relatively easily to a collector of oddities.

Yup, it's basically an upscaled Minilogue... but not upscaled THAT much. The strength of the Minilogue is that it's affordable, and good value for the money; when you strip away that value for money benefit, you've just got a reasonable synth that is sitting in a VERY competitive price bracket, with...

Very cool. The Dano longhorn VIs were, IIRC, the first VIs - I've wanted to give one a go.
Stringing a 30" with light baritone strings works pretty well; the extra scale length gives them an interesting snap. I'd love to hear that with the lipsticks!

The pitch&mod wheels are nice, but at that price, I'll stick to my Minilogue.

The '68 series in general has been pretty good to me. Nice score.

Also, Meteor is the same shape as the Voyager, a prototype from five years ago: http://www.guitarify.com/2012/01/fender-voyager-prototype-guitar/ http://www.guitarify.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Fender-concept1.jpg Thanks, I was just getting image links for this. Motherbuckers or GTFO http://www.bulldozerguitars.com/Graphics/BulldozerPickups3.jpg Sexy ;) I’m still considering the pickups. I pulled it out last band practice for the two songs I play on guitar, and it sounded pretty good, in general. They’re not amazing, but, good enough so far... mind, I ...

NGD - 2017 Firebird T

For Christmas/upcoming birthday my wife got me a new guitar. I’d been eying a vintage burst Gibson Firebird T at my local shop for a while, and it went on sale over the holiday... but that’s not what I got. Instead, I poked around a little bit, and found the Pelham blue version was also availabl...

I was just musing last week on what tech that might have adopted NuTubes since they were announced.
I’d be interested to try/head these, but there’s no way it would be worth the price to me.

Recording setup tips/suggestions

I asked this on Facebook, but, hey, you guys are a wealth of information, so I should ask you too. I'm looking to start doing a little bit of home recording; music demos, possible podcasts, and the like. What do you suggest for a mic pre/mixer, Mic/instrument DAC, and the like to get audio into my M...

I’d never seen the Spitfire neither. I dig the purple one, but if the pickups are the same Duncan-Design FG-101s in the Ultra, they need upgrading. EDIT: Nope, different pickup Way too much wood in the body. The size, you mean? They’re not much different than a Fender VI, Jazz Bass, Jaguar, or J...

Remodelled 2018 Schecter Hellcat VI

Looks like Schecter's updated the Hellcat VI for 2018. http://www.schecterguitars.com/guitars/hellcat-vi-1-1644-detail Changed the pickups from Duncan SJAG-1 to a Schecter stacked humbucker, individual coil split switches on the plate, and a 5-way pickup selector... changed fret markers back to dots...
