You could check out Halon Guitar Parts if you want a quality replacement bridge.

It is very different in construction from the classic Mustang/JM bridge though.

I wrote a novel about it in this post:

Halon Guitar Parts bridge for Classic Player / Adjustomatic

An interesting development for owners of Classic Player Jaguars and Jazzmasters. IMHO the Adjustomatic bridge is the weak link of an otherwise potentially great guitar. It’s has rattling saddles, sits loosely on the posts and generally feels cheap. Until recently Staytrem offered a high qual...

I have Masterys in my two offsets. Sure they cost a lot but to me they are way better than both the original and the mustang bridges I have tried (with and without buzzstops) and really make a huge difference. Also I don't think the guys making them are getting rich off 'em. I may not be a true offs...

I didn't argue against the intentional use of rw/rp pickups but rather against the notion that they produce an out of phase sound. If you have one pickup with EITHER reverse wind OR reverse polarity it will give an out of phase sound in combination with the other pickup. However if you have reverse ...

Question to those of you who have Jags with JM pickups: Do they sound different from JMs or are they more or less the same in terms of sound?

I swear by the Mastery bridges... sure they cost a lot but really make a huge difference, especially if you make it fit super snugly by wedging slivers of matches or tooth picks between the thimbles and the bridge posts. To (freely) quote the dealer in Pulp Fiction: "This costs more, but when y...

As some have pointed out above most of the comparisons made are pretty poor science comparing guitars with totally different construction and electronics in addition to the difference in scale length doesn't isolate the effect of the different scales. However, a good way (IMHO) of comparing would be...

I believe they're meant to be like that on vintage and AVRIs - the polarity / phase is reversed on neck and bridge so that "both on" is hum cancelling. The MIJ pickups are both the same polarity which is vintage incorrect but I hate the out-of-phase sound too. You just need to swap black ...

cij pickups aren't exactly favorable. neither is the antiqua finish unless its really for you. i would say a smidge above the going rate for a cij jag [don't know but ebay should help] I would say a smidge under... :) ... since they are truly hideous... HOWEVER if you hook up with someone looking f...

Personally I have yet to experience sellers remorse. Things I don't use and I sell are out of my mind the minute I sell them. On occasion I have had second thoughts while packing a guitar for shipping, but once I dropped it off it was "out of sight, out of mind"... If you begin jonesing fo...

If you put a slight bend to the short part of the arm ie the one going in to the collet/tube things will improve a lot. I did that on my Jag the other week... So its not the angle of the arm you change. You make sure that the short part is curved which makes the overall fit tighter... Oh and also ch...
