Ibanez RG760 Restomod

It's probably about time I make a thread for this. Early last year I was buying something from my friend's shop and noticed this thing. I was in awe of how terrible it was... There was like an extra 1/4" layer of paint and/or nail polish covering it. It had warts you could push your fingernail ...

Re: Momentary lapse of reason: Squier Paranormal Offset Tele in Shell Pink

Looks fantastic! Indeed. Looks lovely. I've got one of the Paranormal Cyclones and it has similarly janky tuners, but is otherwise pretty great. Curious here, what's janky about those tuners? They look like standard Klusons to me. I replaced the same tuners on my paranormal cyclone with real kluson...

Re: NGD x2 Epiphone Crestwood & Casio DG20

I tried those Casios back in the day. Can't say I was much of a shredder, but I could easily play a bunch of notes, remove my hands from the guitar, and wait for the sound, which came later. They had a pretty bad latency. The latency is actually fantastic on these, at least on this DG20 model and t...

Re: NGD: Blue Fender Toronado GT

I was at a flea market earlier today that one of those corny "life is full of choices" signs with like 7 different guitars on it, one of them was this exact blue Toronado GT with the stripe....I remembered the thread you made about it and thought it was an oddly specific guitar to be on on...

I wouldn’t play this but I’m glad options like this exist. 20 year old me would have been all over this thing

Re: NGD x2 Epiphone Crestwood & Casio DG20

Prince broke an original Crestwood just like yours that belonged to Kirk Douglas of the Roots. Borrowed it for a performance at the Tonight Show, threw it in the air at the end of the song and walked away. I saw a video of him telling that story…Prince offered to buy it from him before the show (in...

NGD x2 Epiphone Crestwood & Casio DG20

Didn’t post about these as I’ve been more busy setting up my home studio than playing guitar the past month or so… The Epiphone was an accidental eBay win…it was sitting around $347, I put in a cheeky dr spangle bid at the last second and won it for $355. The Casio was broken, the kid had fried a tr...

Re: Pre CBS custom colours

Came in to recommend Ocean Turquoise as it does a lot of the things mentioned above, but just learned Fender didn't start using it til 1965. (I don't think you should let this stop you) I would probably try some experiments with LPB and a tinted clear to yellow it a bit...OTM would be like an aged ...

NGD: Squier Classic Vibe Baritone Telecaster

Picked this up on the Squier Labor Day sale at Proaudiostar....they were doing deep discounts and a lot of the CV and Paranormals were $280, this included. Would have gone for the black, if it were offered at the same price, but beggars can't be choosers. It arrived with the top of the box open. Usu...

Re: NGD (fictionalized)

Ah, yeah by those standards these are at least attainable. NGL $3k for that olympic is actually better than what I’ve been seeing, almost to the point of wanting to sell my 66 Mustang for it.

Re: NGD (fictionalized)

What’s reasonably priced? The closest you’ll get now is a beat up one pickup model of the one rob posted for about $1k (In cherry/natural not blue). Nice one pickup Olympics (in cherry? Go for closer to $1,500, and I’m sure that one Rob posted would be upwards of $3k. Wilshires, crestwoods etc with ...
