You could try slackening off the strings, slackening off the neck screws and seeing whether sideways pressure will move the headstock down a couple of mm. That is what I was going to recommend. However, instead of slacking off the neck screws, I usually just brace the body of the guitar between my ...

Looks like it is just in the finish. If you have a guitar guy you trust have the guy meet you with him to check it out. If it is for playing get it if it is just poly crack.. If you are going to flip in a year or so you should pass on it.

tonight I hogged out the tummy and forearm cutouts. turned on my trusty angle grinder with sanding disk and had what you call catastrophic failure. big chunk broke off and went flying. glad I still have my face. nothing like 11,000 rmp bullets. I had a 40 grit flap disk sitting around, so I used tha...

Your probably correct on the angle. I was using a cheap angle gauge to eyeball it. The change in depth is barely noticeable. I will be going with the direct measurement I made with the tape line pion the neck.

I like it even with the alex, I would do like Rox said and get some 400 grit and just wet sand the transitions between the finish and the exposed wood. I will really give it that aged worn look. keep the alex. If it wasn't for him and needing to pawn it for crack, you would not have a nice $30 score...

made a jig to figure out the neck pocket to bridge height situation. made some shims to go into the pocket so I could tinker with depth and angle. when then when I got it set up nicely, I put some painters tape on the exposed neck surface. so it looks like a pocket depth of about 12-13 mm and for be...

So with the CY serial number that is a conversion neck (I think... Someone confirm) I love these necks. Go to guitarfetish.com and you can do your build. Getting a pickguard may be the biggest problem.

I don't get the bridge over the picguard, but I guess that 95% of guitar players would never breake into their guitars anyway. Other than that they all seem nice enough to me.
