It's done, wired, set up and intonated. I'm pretty happy, and it plays really well. It still looks the same, so no point posting new pics EDIT: I really like the trem cos it stays in tune. And the guitar sounds really good. The pickup is good. Trebbles are trebbly and bass notes are bassy (as i expe...

I like the idea, would force you to find your own sound rather than copying others.
I couldn't justify spending the money.

Planning on a kinda skewed 3+3 headstock, longer on the bass side. With a concave curve to the end with a body-coloured beveled edge to it. (does that make sense?)

bronco pickguard done

I did this over a week ago, but haven't been able to get pics off my camera (cos I'm crap) So got a few grainy phone pics to share. I cut the PG using my template and hand beveled the edgewith a file. It takes ages, but am still a bit new to the router table (first time) http://i53.photobucket.com/a...

Fixing the bronco, DONE!

I have kind of done this before. I used a hand held plunge router and it was fucking dangerous. I seriously feared for my fingers and the result was a but wonky. So I made myself a router table and screwed my trusty cheapo plunge router in. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g45/greasermonkeyinprint/...

I took it apart, was slightly surprised at the routing. Looks like a half decent job? Very sharp clean edges, probably done with a chisel by a skilled person? http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g45/greasermonkeyinprint/Guitars/Picture018.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g45/greasermonkeyinprint/...

Exactly; cut-off tele bridge with compensated saddles, and a cheap hotrails pickup.
Thinking about drilling it for string thru and a jag pickup.

Yeah, I do plan on cutting a new pickguard. Just gotta find a blank of the right colour.

The jagstang thing I made myself. It's influenced my the musicmaster with just a neck pickup. It has a 22.75" squier mini strat neck. Anyway, I like it!

Musicman valve/tube question

For some strange reason the valves in my RP65 112 are different brands and slightly different shapes. They are both marked as 6L6, one as 6L6 GC. The bloke I bought it off thought it had the original valves from 1978 (He owned it since about 1980) It sounds good too! Anyway, should I get a new match...
