Re: Hagstrom Bass I project

It might be worth talking to a local plastics supplier - I remember speaking to a place here which offered to cut out a shape and apply a roundover to it, could probably polish it as well. Clear acrylic is cheap and if you can give them a PDF type outline it's probably a few bucks on a CNC machine ...

Re: Vintage Japanese Tele bass

Nice - I mean they are literally identical instruments off the same production line, just rebadged for whichever importer placed the order.

Re: Vintage Japanese Tele bass

You may well be right - there is a mutt bass in this thread: http://www.talkbass.com/threads/vintage-60s-ibanez-bass-do-you-know-what-the-model-and-value.1448362/ which has a transfer logo (so a year or two later) but the shape, truss rod cover and the sole original tuner (G) match the ones on yours ...

Re: Aria vintage Tele bass

Yeah a few toothpicks and wood glue will stabilise the neck screws - be cautious, mahogany isn't as bulletproof as maple! If the screws are significantly rusted they can easily snap, might be worth seeing what you can get as a replacement.
If you gut and rewire the electrics you'll most likely end ...

Re: Unknown vintage Tele bass

Love it - amazing condition. Aria were putting out these kinds of shortscale Tele basses in the mid-late 60s, I've always fancied one. I think maybe there were some branded Lyle/Pan as well?

Re: Help figuring out of this is real

Looks perfectly legit to me - the tort, serial number, logos, tuners etc all check out.
T serial numbers are a mess even with Fender Japan, they used them in the 90s (a la this one) and again around 2009 (different typeface, MADE IN JAPAN rather than Crafted). Buy with confidence.

Looks like a Boss Loop Station is the most basic that takes a battery. At least from my casual search.

Oh wow, the bridge in particular loses all that harsh glare which I just thought was what an electric 12 must be like. Awesome!

Re: Even more stupidity: Greco Super Sounds "Telemaster Custom" mashup

Oops, forgot to keep this up to date. I had a few technical barriers but they're sorted now. I have never really used a router, but decided to use an existing pickguard as a template for cutting a JM pickup hole. Double sided tape and clamps to lock them tight:
