Anyone have any experience of these? Not that I need another pedal, but these really piqued my interest as something super flexible but still remaining totally usable as a main distortion, kinda copping that Stooges/Bowie overloaded amp vibe.

A friend of mine has one that he uses on bass and I borrowed it for a week a few months back.

If the Australian dollar wasn't so FUCKING terrible right now, I'd have bought one. Instead I got a Fuzzolo, which is like a really stripped down version of it. I prefer the sound of it to the Fuzz Factory, and because it has the advantage that you can throw it anywhere in a signal chain and it'll perform consistently. The bass cut switch really helps too and makes you can get a really good sound with humbuckers too, whereas with the Fuzz Factory, I felt it was too dark and thick for what I like. I liked it for splattery, rippy type stuff.

I can do that with the Fuzzolo and I got it for a fair bit cheaper.

I'd heard (unconfirmed) reports that it was based on a Woolly Mammoth with added tone controls, which made me want one. Annie Clark uses one a lot, apparently.

Dang, glowing reviews indeed. Will try to keep an eye on the used market, although the 100 new they go nowadays for isn't too bad really.

Dead simple to build if you do want one

Though resale on the real deal would be better than a clone
