Check it out. They "fixed" the CP series jazzmaster. I'm assuming they've done the same to the jaguar.

Nitro finish, traditional vibrato position and a standard bridge. The pickups don't have screws for poles, so they're not the p90s that were in it before.
I like it.

The trem move was a functional change that didn't make the slightest bit of aesthetic difference and fucking worked. Why the fuck would they change it back?

Oh, yeah. Nerds. Fucking nerds.

s say the trem location has a MASSIVE affect on toan.

Must say I think that's probably bollocks.

Looks like it's effectively a MIM AVRI.

The Jag behind it has neck binding and a mute! Even the AVRIs didn't have a mute. Because it's pointless. Nice to see though.

i think the break angle caused by the trem does affect tone is as much as a sharper angle increases sustain and bottom end, and helps keep strings from popping due to less compliance. probably marginal compared with the move from a hearty TOM to the floating style bridge though. that change will definitely decrease sustain and bottom end, but is part of that vintage sound.

Agree it likely increases sustain but the s complain that it removes all the lovely overtones you get from string vibration behind the bridge. That's the bit I'm a little sceptical about.

Also agree that the bridge is probably the greater contributor to a change in sound.

I like it too. A std jm basically. Should sit well between the vmjm and the avri. CIJs are great, but not always the easiest for people to find.

yeah i dunno, i actually do think the further back the bridge the more metallic overtones you get (probably helped further by the vintage bridge), but i don't like that anyway.

I searched google for Chicago Music Exchange Instagram and it brought them all up.

There's a silver face Vibrolux on there too.

And a few Teles, Strats and basses.

Cool. Wonder what the neck radius will be? And if they'll actually be MIM? Don't know of any MIM guitars with a nitro finish. But...

This. What an awful, and lazy, idea.

They actually did have a mute in the early days IIRC. I can't seem to find a catalog from back then online, but somewhere I have an old Frontline magazine circa '98 or '99, and the AVRI Jag pictured in that one came with a mute.

Edit: This is from 2006, so I guess they did as recent as then. It's been so long since I've seen a brand new AVRI, though.
