The SG is great, I like big necks on my 24.75 scale guitars, and it is fairly chunky, and build quality is good. I'm not sure what year mine is, mid 2000s I think. I've had other SGs before, but never quite gelled with them - I'd definitely try a special out, and they are good value as well.

I totally agree. These Sgs are great, the necks are fairly chunky as you said but the actual neck shape just seems to fit perfectly in the hand. You can alsi buy them super cheap in comparison to most Gibsons.

You have a load of great gear man. Very nice!

You have many awesome guitars, but I think I like the Tokai best of all.

It's grand, but I'd be interested to play it side by side with the GS.

This body is getting refinished, as the paint on there is way too thin and not very well applied and I was going to change the 'guard, but its been sitting on a stand for a few days, rather than hidden in the rack and I reckon I'm going to do it in white again, just better. It looks like a tuxedo.

The Tokai tends to win that particular battle, I'm not sure I can quantify why though
